Lindsay DeCarlo

Lindsay DeCarlo is a partner at La Cava Jacobson & Goodis who routinely handles a breadth of complex litigation, primarily focusing her practice on the defense of healthcare providers and government contractors.

Ms. DeCarlo is a proud alumnus of the University of Florida where she obtained both her undergraduate and law degrees. In law school, Ms. DeCarlo served as a Judicial Clerk and research assistant in Florida’s Twelfth Judicial Circuit and was a Summer Associate with the Office of the Broward County Attorney.

She has also taken supplemental trial practice coursework at New York Law School where she thereafter launched her litigation career practicing throughout New York City before eventually returning to Florida.

Before joining the firm, Ms. DeCarlo defended clients ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 corporations in a vast array of civil litigation from inception through verdict. In that role, she helped build the firm’s Class Action, Products Liability, and Healthcare practice groups within the state of Florida. Previously, Ms. DeCarlo was an associate at a boutique civil trial firm in New York City focused exclusively on the defense of high-exposure medical malpractice actions on behalf of the region’s most prominent doctors and hospitals. She has also served as an associate in mass-tort litigation overseeing a large caseload in multidistrict litigation (MDL) throughout the country.

Ms. DeCarlo has a proven track record of successfully obtaining dismissals and summary judgments on her clients’ behalf. Her pleadings and legal briefs have been published in major legal news outlets including Law360, Legal Examiner, and the Legal Intelligencer. She has published practice guides for lawyers on defending foodborne illness cases and environmental/toxic tort litigation. She has been invited to present at seminars to medical associations and healthcare groups throughout Florida on effective risk mitigation and early incident intervention strategies.
