David P. Young
David P. Young was born in Ashland, Kentucky. Raised in Florida, he completed undergraduate degrees in Business and Marketing at Stetson University, as well as a graduate degree in Literature at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He completed his legal education at the University of Florida where he received his Juris Doctor degree, with honors, in 1997. While in law school, he was a member of the Florida Journal of International Law and received multiple American Jurisprudence Awards for outstanding scholastic achievement. He is admitted to the Florida Bar (since 1998) and the U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida. He is AV Preeminent peer review rated by Martindale-Hubbell for his ethical standards and professional ability.
Mr. Young has been defending physicians and other health care providers in state and federal courts, along with licensing and disciplinary boards, since he began practicing in Tampa in 1998. He began his legal career at Smith & Fuller, P.A., where for two years he focused on defending hospitals. Mr. Young practiced with Stephens, Lynn, Klein, La Cava & Puya in Tampa for ten years, ultimately as a partner in the Tampa office focusing on the defense of physicians in medical malpractice and licensing issues.
