Maura Isaacs

Maura Isaacs earned her B.A. in Literature from Ave Maria University and her J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law. After being admitted to the Florida Bar in 2013, she began her career as a prosecutor for the Sixth Judicial Circuit, serving the citizens of Pinellas and Pasco counties. During her time with the State Attorney’s Office, Ms. Isaacs worked in the Juvenile Gang Unit and became an instructor for the Florida Gang Investigators Association. She was later promoted to serve as a special prosecutor in the Electronic Investigations Unit, where she worked daily with detectives throughout the Sixth Circuit in the review, authorization, and execution of search warrants, to include wiretap applications, mobile tracking devices, pen registers, social media warrants, and residential, vehicle, and mobile device warrants.

While working in the Electronic Investigations Unit, Ms. Isaacs assisted in several long-term, RICO investigations into various criminal street gangs and drug trafficking organizations throughout the Tampa Bay area, which led to her being appointed and cross-sworn as a Special Designated Assistant Statewide Prosecutor. At the culmination of these investigations, Ms. Isaacs was nominated for the Sun Coast Police Benevolent Association’s Prosecutor of the Year Award. Towards the conclusion of her time at the State Attorney’s Office, she received the St. Petersburg Elks Lodge #1224 Prosecutor of the Year Award, after being nominated by State Attorney Bruce Bartlett.

Following the State Attorney’s Office, Ms. Isaacs served as Assistant Legal Counsel for the St. Petersburg Police Department, where she applied her prosecutorial experience to provide legal training and guidance to a department of nearly 600 sworn personnel.

At La Cava Jacobson & Goodis, Ms. Isaacs’ practice will primarily concentrate in the areas of general liability and premises liability (including, but not limited to sexual assault, negligent security, and wrongful death), as well as the defense of healthcare providers and government contractors.
